May 14th meeting: K-9 Unit; Dealing With Criticism and Rejection

Special Note: If you have pet allergies, there will be a dog present during our morning presentation.

Reminder: Our prices are now $25 for RSVP’d members, $30 non-members.

Law enforcement K-9s perform a number of jobs, aiding their human partners in many tasks, including finding narcotics and apprehending suspects. Join us in welcoming Deputy Ahern of the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, who will talk about his experience with the K-9 unit and answer questions, as well as introduce us to his K-9 partner, Biko.

We’ll have a delicious lunch, and a fun book drawing.

In the afternoon, David Fitzsimmons will present “Dealing with Rejection, Criticism and Being Grateful (yes, really!) for Savage Editors.” Best known for his political cartoons in the Arizona Daily Star, Fitzsimmons is also an excellent writer, and it is this part of his career that will be the focus of our afternoon session. He will discuss how he copes with rejection and criticism and why he’s grateful for savage editors.

RSVP by 9:30 am, Wednesday, May 11th to save your place. $30 non-members includes lunch. $25 RSVP’d members. Pay at the door. RSVP by clicking the button on http://www.meetup.com/Arizona-Mystery-Writers-of-Tucson/ or email amwmembershipchair@gmail.com. See you there!
